PIXELDUST STUDIOS WINS TWO CINE GOLDEN EAGLE AWARDS

Pixeldust Studios has been awarded two CINE Golden Eagle Awards for excellence in the category of Professional Advertising & Promotion Division: Program Opens with the productions of "Wild Mississippi" for National Geographic Wild in conjunction with Red Rock Films and "National Geographic Education Website Open" for National Geographic Education's website. For "Wild Mississippi," Pixeldust used 2.5D animation to create an immersive journey through the Mississippi River wildlife while for "National Geographic Education Website Open," Pixeldust animated Nat Geo's traditional globe logo using a layered style and look where watercolor meets active elements meets technology. CINE was founded in 1957 and the Golden Eagle Award has been a recognized mark of excellence throughout the film and television industry for over 50 years.

PIXELDUST STUDIOS GOES TO NEW YORK CITY WITH "DC CUPCAKES"

In the latest one-hour "DC Cupcakes" special on TLC, Pixeldust Studios illustrates Sophie and Katherine's newest culinary creations. Using 2D animated lines, Pixeldust demonstrates the construction process behind a life-sized New York taxi cab covered with cupcakes as the sisters open their new location in New York City.

PIXELDUST STUDIOS CAPTURES THE WILD OF UNTAMED AMERICAS

Referencing satellite imagery and digital elevation maps, Pixeldust Studios produced highly detailed and accurate animations for the National Geographic miniseries "Untamed Americas," depicting the vast terrain of North and South America. To create a photorealistic look and seamless transitions to the beautiful video footage shot by the producers, Pixeldust matched the densities and colors of the terrain and created camera moves in 3D animation software, simulating a viewer's POV 'fly-over' of the landscape, from Alaska to Patagonia.

PIXELDUST STUDIOS ANIMATES MAN-EATING SUPER CROC FOR ANIMAL PLANET'S MONSTER WEEK

For Animal Planet's first ever Monster Week, Pixeldust Studios created the show open and in-show graphics for "Man-Eating Super Croc." Using Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D software, Pixeldust created 2.5D and 3D animations, designing a style that was both spooky and realistic in a monochromatic color palette. "Man-Eating Super Croc" airs tonight at 8pm on Animal Planet.

PIXELDUST STUDIOS EARNS NOMINATION AT REGIONAL EMMY AWARDS

Pixeldust Studios earned a nomination in the Graphics/Animation category for the 2011 National Capital and Chesapeake Bay Chapter's Emmy Awards for their work on the one-hour National Geographic Channel special, "Casino Wars." In this special, Pixeldust used 3D animation and an x-ray design style to uncover the hidden technologies behind how con artists cheat casinos. The awards will be held June 16th.

PIXELDUST STUDIOS DESIGNS OPEN FOR NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC'S "EXTREME CIVIL WAR REENACTORS"

For this National Geographic Channel TV special, "Extreme Civil Reenactors," Pixeldust Studios created a show open using 2D animation over a parchment background, transitioning from classic illustrations out of Harper's magazine to live-action footage of modern day battle reenactments. This one hour special follows a handful of the most hard-core Civil War reenactors, who eat, sleep and breathe the gun smoke of history.
