The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) came to Pixeldust with the need to explain Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) with an animated medical video explainer. Pixeldust created a realistic-looking human in 3D using Autodesk Maya and rendered with Solid Angle Arnold, in order to produce high-quality medical content and animations. Special attention to details such as the shading of the skin and lighting of the environment allowed the project to maintain a realistic feel even in close-up shots. Above all, this animated medical explainer allows an easy understanding of what Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy can do to a person’s body. It highlights the importance of looking out for early signs of the disorder especially if one is a diabetic patient, and promotes APMA’s activities and the organization itself. This medical content addresses two types of audiences: podiatrists in America and diabetic patients. Podiatrists will be encouraged to join APMA thanks to an express recommendation of visiting an APMA podiatrist, and diabetic patients will become well informed after watching this video. This production is a perfect example of the usefulness and power of using a video to promote an organization, while also explaining hard-to-grasp concepts in a clear and concise manner. The video includes 3D animations that correctly explain the causes of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, it’s symptoms, and it’s long-term side effects.
