01 — Overview

How do you explain a worldwide shift to everyone, everywhere, at once? For Ashoka's Everyone a Changemaker movement, Pixeldust created a 2D animated video with universal characters and type that has been re-versioned in five languages.

Ashoka, the world’s largest network of social entrepreneurs, needed to explain its Everyone a Changemaker movement to a universal audience. It selected Pixeldust to conceptualize and produce a 2D animated video with dynamic motion graphics that carries the organization’s key messages.

Pixeldust developed a contemporary concept with a fresh color palette and universal characters that work across every social platform and presentation worldwide. The video has been re-versioned in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian and French, and serves as an introduction that connects with audiences of all ages and latitudes.

Global motion graphics for a social movement

The brief: one video for a universal audience

The animation had to explain the Everyone a Changemaker movement in a way anyone could understand, then work on social media and in presentations around the world, in any language.

A visual concept for a worldwide shift

Pixeldust developed a visual concept that clearly explains the social and economic shift taking place around the world: from assembly lines and machines doing efficient work, through a variety of hand gestures and happy and not-so-happy faces, to teams of inspired, connected people who make change possible. These concepts became the starting point for the video’s motion graphics.

Typography that works on its own

The original version had an English voice-over, but later versions of the 2D animation had to be understood on their own. The typographic concept had to be bold and readable, and the type animation engaging, visually surprising and fluid.
