A high-end 3D animation commercial for HP's ZBook Power laptop, created by Pixeldust with Accenture from a model built to HP's exact specs.
A workstation laptop has to prove two things at once: that it is powerful enough for professionals, and that it is built to the exact standard on the spec sheet. Brought to Pixeldust by Accenture, HP’s ZBook Power commercial needed a high-end 3D animation that blended creativity with technical precision, starting from a product model that is 100% accurate to HP’s specifications.
Pixeldust visualized and animated the laptop’s features from the inside out, from the processor and GPU to its durability, memory and storage, and delivered the spot in two versions, for the Intel and AMD configurations.
Inside the ZBook Power
The laptop emerges and the tagline, “Pro-certified power within reach,” animates on. Its screen lights up with a 3D modeler’s workflow that runs through the whole commercial, starting with a wireframe model of a building being manipulated and edited in real time, the kind of work the ZBook Power is built for.
The laptop spins around to reveal its internal components. The 13th-gen Intel Core processor and the NVIDIA RTX Ada laptop GPU detach and float above the chassis, isolated in a spotlight to show the power beneath the exterior.
The spot puts the ZBook Power through its paces. The laptop slams onto the ground without a scratch while digital gridlines form a protective force field around it. Close-ups spotlight key specs, including 64GB of memory and 8TB of storage, and a hyper-realistic render on screen shows how easily it handles demanding work.
To find a look that matched the laptop’s power, Pixeldust explored several backgrounds and visual motifs. One early direction surrounded the product with interconnected purple hexagons glowing with light. Another raised triangular pillars in rhythmic, wave-like patterns, an abstract digital city around the hero product.
Every surface of the 3D model was built to HP’s specifications. Working closely with HP and Accenture through rounds of iterative refinement, Pixeldust captured even the smallest details, from the exterior design to the internal components, so the dynamic animation shows the laptop exactly as it is and communicates its advanced features with confidence.
Alongside the Intel spot, Pixeldust delivered a second cut of the commercial featuring the AMD configuration of the ZBook Power, built from the same model and visual system.
