A 3D animated world by Pixeldust for Kodak's PRINERGY On Demand, visualizing automation, integration, security and analytics.
How do you make printing software look as precise as the work it produces? Kodak recruited Pixeldust to lead the dynamic branding of PRINERGY On Demand, its end-to-end software platform for printing organizations, and to give each of the platform’s five pillars, Automation, Integration, Production Efficiency, Security, and Analytics and AI, its own visual identity.
Pixeldust designed the five pillar logos and built a 3D animated world in which each one assembles itself out of abstract light and color, ready for the web, advertising and social media. The work had to live within Kodak’s existing brand guidelines while giving the platform a sleek, modern look that raised the brand to a new level.
The concept and the five pillars
Printing turns a digital vision into something physical, so the design concept shows something created out of nothing. Complex processes that overlap in countless ways come together into something familiar: abstract colored lines twist and curl from their starting points into a chaotic bed, and procedural animation grows each 3D logo out of it organically.
Taming those procedural elements, bending and warping them into the exact shapes of intricate logos, was the biggest creative challenge. Cinematic camera moves capture the lines from unique angles as they grow, and special care went into surface texture, reflection and refraction so every form feels tangible. This concept, created in response to Kodak’s request for proposal, is the one that won Pixeldust the project.
This logo represents numerous individual processes working in parallel, reinforced by large bent arms that provide stability and structure. It expresses the powerful combination of productivity and reduced risk that intelligent automation brings.
Since Kodak entered the world of print, it has stood for quality and reliability. Built from countless waves of interlocking semicircles, the Integration pillar expresses optimization and balance, separate systems coming together as one smooth workflow.
Animated like nature itself, the Production Efficiency pillar grows organically from a bed of roots into a leaf, communicating consistency and the reduction of waste.
Analytics builds a reliable picture of the future from the reality of the past. A chaotic bed of line graphs is guided by elegant, curling ribbons into this logo, which conveys the smart reading of data and an upward trajectory.
As organizations face more and more cyber attacks, security has become an essential function of any software tool. This animation builds a technologically complex cube that stands for power and stability.
